What Brides Should Know Before Visiting Della Curva
What size wedding dresses do you carry?
Della Curva is a plus-size only bridal salon carrying wedding dresses in sizes 16 to 34. Since bridal sizing is different from our typical everyday clothing, brides tend to be one to two sizes larger in a wedding dress.
What designers do you carry?
We carry Allure, Essense of Australia, Sophia Tolli, Stella York, Wtoo as well as our own Della Curva Private Label.
Do you take walk-ins or do I need an appointment?
Della Curva is a by appointment only so we cannot accommodate walk-ins. You can request an appointment online or call us at (818) 344-1444 to schedule an appointment.
Can I bring my children to my appointment?
Unfortunately, bridal salons and young children aren’t the best fit so we respectfully request that you do not bring young children to your appointment.
Can I bring food and drinks to my appointment?
No. We do not allow any outside food or drinks but… We do have the most delicious champagne that we pop open whenever a bride says yes to her dress.
When should I start shopping for my wedding dress?
We recommend that you begin your search 9 to 12 months prior to your wedding. In general, it takes 5 to 6 months for your wedding dress to ship from the designer once it is ordered. But, if need be, we can rush an order for an additional fee. And, if you are very short on time, we do have a limited but beautiful selection of wedding dresses that can be purchased off-the-rack.
What should I expect during my appointment?
Your appointment will be one hour and fifteen minutes long. During that time, you and your bridal consultant will first get acquainted. You will discuss what you’re looking for in a wedding dress, where and when you’re getting married, your budget, etc. Then, you will try on several wedding dresses with accessories based on your discussion and… Hopefully, find the dress of your dreams.
What should I bring to my appointment?
Please wear comfortable undergarments and a strapless bra if you have one. And remember… Spanx is our friend! So bring them if you have them. Also, if you have a shoe or heel that you feel comfortable in, bring that too. If you don’t, we have try-on bras as well as shoes here.
Should I get hair & make-up done for my appointment?
No. It is not necessary to get all dolled up for this. Your normal every day routine is all you should do. So please do not wear a lot of make-up or body lotion.
What happens if I am late to my appointment?
We will do everything we can to accommodate you during your allotted time. If you feel you need more time, we will be happy to schedule another appointment for you and at that time we will pick up right where we left off before.
How many friends can I bring friends to my appointment?
We request that you limit your shopping companions to three (3) or less – The ones whose opinions you trust and value the most. One of the many things that makes us so special is our small intimate space. Therefore, we simply cannot accommodate large groups during our busiest times. However, if a large group is a must, we will be happy to accommodate you during the week – Tuesday thru Thursday. Appointments with large groups are not available on Fridays, Saturdays or most Sundays. These appointments are fee-based so there are some very special perks included. Do you carry bridesmaids’ dresses?
No. But our sister store downstairs, Lili Bridals, does. They have an excellent curvy collection. And, no appointment is required. They also have curvy mother-of-the-bride dresses.
What is the price range of your wedding gowns?
Our wedding gowns start at around $900 and go up to $3,500. We also always have a Sample Sale Rack available with deeply discounted wedding dresses.
What is a Sample Sale?
A Sample Sale is when we sell discontinued and/or older sample wedding dresses off-the-rack at deep discounts. These wedding dresses are sold as is and cannot be returned.
Do you sell accessories?
Yes! We have bridal jewelry, specialty bras, veils, and gorgeous belts and sashes.
Can I take pictures during my appointment?
Yes! But please do not go home afterwards and form an opinion based on the smartphone photos you have taken. There are many factors that go into a great photograph of a wedding dress and unfortunately our smart phones often do not portray the dress in the best light.
Do you do layaway?
No. But please notify us of your situation before you leave. We want you to have the wedding dress you love instead of settling for a dress that you can afford. We can’t promise anything, but we may be able to work something out.
What happens if after I order my wedding dress, I decide that I don’t like it… Can I cancel my order?
No. Once we place the order for you, there is no turning back since every wedding dress is made to order just for you.
What happens if after I purchase a wedding dress off-the-rack, I decide that I want it. Can I return it?
No. Unfortunately, all sales of off-the-rack wedding dresses are final and non-refundable.
Is there parking?
Yes! We have parking on the property in front of the building as well as behind the building in our free parking structure. Do not park at the meters in the street as they will expire before your appointment is over.
When can I pick-up my dress?
We will call and email you when your beautiful wedding dress arrives. You can pick-up it up on any day that we open during regular business hours. The one exception is Saturday. We do not do pick-ups on Saturdays.
Do you offer alterations?
No. Alterations are not included with your purchase. However, we do have a list of professional tailors who do bridal alterations. These people are not employees of Della Curva and we are in no way responsible for their work. Therefore, we encourage you to interview them prior to hiring them to do your work. If you decide to use one of them to do the alterations on your wedding dress, it is done so at your cost.
